The HP-UX 11i Mission Operating Environment provides all the capabilities of the base HP-UX 11i and Enterprise Operating Environments plus certain critical add-on products for additional multiple system availability and performance management. Mission-Critical HP-UX Operating Environment is focused on the highest-end, corporate-critical database servers that must measure system downtime in no more than a few minutes per year.

The basic HP-UX 11i Operating Environment is a fully-featured operating environment that is heavily focused on the new age of Internet comupting. In addition to the base HP-UX kernel, commands and management utilties, the HP-UX 11i OE provides numerous other Internet-focused capabilities, including the Apache Webserver, Java Runtime and Java Development Environment. The basic HP-UX 11i Operating Environment includes a huge number of features for industrial-strength system management, industry-leading scalability, multi-system interoperability, and the world's most advanced security.

It should be used when you want to take a system from HP-UX 10.20 to HP-UX 11i Mission-Critical Operating Environment and do not have a support contract. Please purchase the appropriate number of processors' worth of this product according to the number of processors on the system on which it is running.
